General Requirements for Associate Degrees
Navarro College awards the following degrees: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associates of Arts in Teaching, and Associate in Applied Science. In addition to the coursework of the individual’s degree plan, the requirements below must be met. Exception to the individual’s degree plan or any of the requirements below can only be made upon the written recommendation of the appropriate Executive Dean approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- Completion of all admission requirements.
- Completion of at least 25 percent of the hours required for the degree from Navarro College.
- Achievement of a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 on all work required for the degree.
- Satisfactory completion of all financial obligations.
- Satisfactory completion of the core curriculum for each degree as listed in this catalog.
- Demonstration of college readiness in Math, Reading, and writing through a state approved method.
- Satisfaction of exit criteria from required developmental studies course(s).
- Completion of the College Application for Graduation
Navarro College confers certificate or degrees three times per year at the end of each long semester: fall, spring, and summer. Coursework presented for graduation after the end of the term will be conferred in the next long semester.
